IS IT SAFE?

I take this practice very seriously and use all new, single-use, sterilized materials sourced from a reputable tattoo supplier. Every single needle is individually wrapped and I do not reuse any materials. For each appointment, a new ink cup, silicon-free surgical grade gloves, and a new sanitary mat (to place under the area being tattooed) is used for each client.

WHAT KIND OF INK IS USED?

I only tattoo in black ink. Please do not send requests for color tattoos. The ink being used is traditional tattoo ink and is vegan.

WHEN SHOULD I ARRIVE?

Please arrive as close to the time of the appointment as possible. Appointments that are over 20 minutes late will not be accepted without a heads up. As there are other people booked before/after your slot, this ensures that everyone receives the allotted amount of time and that our time together is not rushed.

*COUGH* WHAT IF I'M SICK?

A lot of people try to come because they don't want to miss their appointment. Don't worry! If you are sick, please let me know asap. We will reschedule for the next open date once you are feeling better, I promise I'll get you in.

CAN I BRING A FRIEND?

If applicable, please let me know how many additional people will be coming to the appointment with you. Bringing friends is totally fine, especially if it makes you feel more comfortable. However, please try to limit to a max of 2 additional people and please note that I will not be able to add any on-the-spot tattoos during our scheduled slot.

ANY PREP I NEED TO DO?

Please try to eat before arriving to the appointment. And if possible, avoid alcohol and taking any drugs that have blood-thinning qualities 24hrs prior to getting a tattoo.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING?

Yourself and your ID. If you are visiting from out of the country, please bring whatever form of ID you traveled with (ie. passport or your driver license if applicable).

SO... IS IT PERMANENT?

You'd be surprised how often I get asked this. Yes, it is indeed permanent. But like all tattoos, it will fade overtime. The best way to preserve your tattoo is to take care of it by moisturizing it even after it's completely healed and by applying sunscreen, especially if it is placed in a location on the body that can't avoid sun exposure.

WHAT IS YOUR HOURLY RATE?

I do not work off an hourly rate, so sit back, relax, and stay a while! All 1/1  appointments are blocked out in 2.25 hr increments. I charge based on size, complexity of the design and where it's placed on the body. 1/1 pieces  are priced at $250/per regardless of size, complexity or time it takes to tattoo. Custom pieces start at $300 and typically cap around $500.

WHAT IS YOUR AVAILABILITY?

My schedule varies widely. I typically will only tattoo on the weekends when my schedule allows. Please keep this in mind when requesting dates, especially if you are traveling from out of town and are hoping to get an appointment. Slots tend to fill quickly, but your best bet is to reach out asap after seeing a post about open slots on instagram, or 2 - 3 weeks before you'd like to come in.

I NEVER HEARD BACK FROM YOU?

Please email again!! Sometimes it takes me a while to respond (sorry in advance!), but if you haven't heard back and are still interested, feel free to resend me an email in the same thread as the first one. Typically I schedule whoever is at the top of my inbox, especially for 1/1 appointments.

WHAT'S A 1/1 TATTOO?

For 1/1 appointments, you can choose anything from my sketchbook that hasn't already been tattooed. You pick the design during the appointment, and if time allows, we can slightly modify the design together to better fit what your taste. Please keep in mind that I will not sketch something from scratch during these appointments as the slot is for a condensed amount of time.

CAN YOU DO THIS OR THAT?

No, I cannot do a portrait of your family member and no, I cannot tattoo a watercolor painting. I tattoo by hand, using a single needle and only black ink. Please research my style (it's very specific!) before sending your request.

CAN I JUST BUY A DESIGN?

Simple answer: no. I realize that I am not accessible to everyone, however, I do not sell my designs. Part of the reason I continue doing this is because of the amazing community of people I get to meet and share space with. I only tattoo each design one time, so stealing something that I've already put on someone else's body is painful for both me and my client to see. Please do not copy or have another artist tattoo my work. It's something I strongly do not approve of, please be respectful.

WHAT ABOUT THE AFTER CARE?

At the end of the appointment, I will be sure to fill you in on all the important information regarding care. Please keep in mind that you should avoid sun exposure and/or being submerged in water (ocean, pool, bath, etc.) until you tattoo is fully healed. Please plan accordingly and keep vacation dates in mind. You can also reference the care instructions HERE.

CAN I SEE THE PAGES?

I post every single 1/1 page on my instagram account @tkbk_. I do not send out the pages prior to the appointment, as it is too hard to keep photos that are up to date. Please remember that the designs are first come first serve and I will not reserve designs. If you like my work, I am confident that you will be able to find something that is exactly what you're looking for.

WHAT ABOUT PAYMENT?

I only have the ability to accept cash or venmo at this time. Cash is preferred and if you are planning to pay with that method, please bring it with you during the appointment, there are not very many ATMs close by.
1/1 price range : $250 (for limbs)
Custom base rate: $300 + up

WHY ONLY ARMS AND LEGS?

Currently, I am trying to focus on tattooing mostly limbs. Short answer: this is just the area that I enjoy tattooing most and am most knowledgable and confident about the skin and how it will age and heal.
